Appearance: –

Appearance attributes are properties that affect the look of an object without altering its underlying structure. Appearance attributes include fills, strokes, transparency, and effects. If you apply an appearance attribute to an object and later edit or remove that attribute, it does not change the underlying object or any other attributes applied to the object.

New Style: –

  • Select an object
  • Window >appearance
  • Select fill content
  • Fill the color (Red)
  • Duplicate the fill content
  • Change the color (yellow)
  • Effect >distort and transform > pucker bloat
  • Define pucker and bloat
  • Select red content
  • Effect >Stylize >Drop shadow

To save Style: –

  • Select an object (Create a design with Required effect)
  • Click on Windows > Graphic Style (Shift + F5)
  • Click on New Graphic style icon from panel (Now your style is saved for this document only)
  • you can save style to style library by clicking on save Graphic style library form panel menu

To apply style

  • First, select the object
  • click on the style of your choice from the style palette

To expand (extract) Appearance: –

  • Select an object (used appearance command)
  • Object >Expand Appearance
  • Object >ungroup (Ctrl+Shift +G)
  • Now you can select an indivusal object

Eyedropper tool: –

Eyedropper tool lets you sample the color pixel

To fill the required color

  • Fill red color in — rectangle
  • No fill — in the circle
  • Select circle, Click on the eyedropper tool
  • Click on rectangle to sample and fill the color

Stylize

Drop shadow: –

This command lets you add a shadow behind an object.

  • Effect>Stylize>Drop shadow

Feather: –

  • This effect lets you to bluer or makes soft on the edge of the object

Inner /Outer Glow: –

  • This effect lets you make a glow on the inner and outer edge of an object

Round corners: –

  • This effect lets you define the radius of the corner roundness of an object.

No Smoking: –

  • Draw a rectangle fill the gradient color
  • Draw a small rectangle (filter)
  • Fill the filter color
  • Draw a path (smoke)
  • Effect >Stylize >feather (define your own value
  • Click on text tool (font – wingding) press (Shift+N)
  • Danger sign
  • Type >create outline – Effect >stylize >feather (define your own value)
  • Type the text Smoking Kills

Distort and transform: –

  • Select an object (circle)
  • Effect >distort and transform >pucker and bloat
  • Bloat 200
  • Click ok

Text effect: –

  • Type the text, Select it
  • Effect >distort and transform >pucker and bloat
  • Drag the slider of pucker and bloat

Ripple text effect: –

  • Type the text MANEJSH
  • Duplicate it and reflect the duplicate text define the opacity =35
  • Effect >distort and transform > roughen
  • Define size and details
  • Point — smooth
  • Effect >distort and transform >free distort
  • Click and drag the corner point

To twist an object: –

  • Select an object
  • Effect >Distort and transform >twist
  • Angle =45
  • Ok

Distort and transform an image: –

  • Import an image (file >place)
  • Click on object > Rasterize (Rasterize the image)
  • Draw a rectangular object
  • Effect > warp > Flag (Change setting as per required)
  • Click on object > Expand appearance
  • Select Both image and object
  • Object >envelop and distort> Make with top object (Alt + Ctrl + C)

 Paint Effect: –

  • Select an image
  • Effect >Effect gallery >Artistic >water color
  • Under painting
  • Sponge
  • Film Grain etc (try all effects)

Brushstroke effect: –

  • Select an image
  • Effect >Effect gallery >Brush stroke >Dark stroke
  • Ink outlines
  • Spray Strokes
  • Angle Strokes etc (try all effects)

Blur Effect

  • Select an image
  • Filter >Blur >Gaussian Blur

Zoom Effect: –

  • Select an image
  • Filter blur >radial blur
  • Blur method – Zoom
  • Define Amount and adjust the blur center, ok

Glass/Ripple Effect: –

  • Select an image
  • Filter >Distort >Glass ripple (color mode should be RGB)

Texture effect:

  • Select an image
  • Filter >texture >texturizer
  • Option: –
  • Texture – Brick
  • Light direction — Top Right

Noise Effect: –

  • Select an image
  • Filter >Texture >Grain
  • Select the required grain type

Photocopy Effect: –

  • Select an image
  • Filter >Sketch >Photocopy
  • Stamp, Note paper etc (try all the effects)

Background Blur Effect: –

  • Select an image
  • Copy it (Ctrl+C)
  • Draw a path according to the image shape
  • Select both (image and path)
  • Object >clipping mask >make (Ctrl+7)
  • Select the masking image
  • Edit >paste in back (Ctrl+B)
  • Effect >Blur >Gaussian Blur
  • Define Blur radius.

Making Wall: –

  • Draw a rectangle (fill brick color)
  • Effect >texture >texturizer
  • Options: –
  • Texture —- brick
  • Light direction – Top right

To Create A New Pattern: –

  • Design something for pattern
  • Window >Swatches
  • Click and drag your design in Swatches palette

To fill the pattern

  • Draw an object and select it
  • Click on the required pattern

Text Pattern: –

  • Type the text Manjesh and press space one time
  • Fill light gray color
  • Click and drag in swatches palette
  • Select an object e.g. (Rectangle) fill the text pattern.

Multi-stroke Text: –

  • Type >Create an outline
  • Object ungroup
  • Window >Appearance (Shift + F6)
  • Select fill content
  • Fill red color
  • Click on stroke content
  • Define stroke width eg (6pt)
  • Change the stroke color (blue)
  • Duplicate the stroke content
  • Define stroke width – 1pt
  • Change the stroke color (yellow)
