  • Create a new document
  • Create a new layer
  • Press D (default color black and white)
  • Again Edit >fill (alt + backspace) fills the foreground color. (Black color)
  • Blending mode – Dissolve. Opacity 2-5

Wood design: –

  • New document
  • New layer (Ctrl + Shift + N)
  • Make a rectangle marquee selection, eg

  • Type some text (eg: OK, text color white)
  • Text must be on center of document
  • Merge layer (Ctrl +E)
  • Filter menu>Distort>Polar Coordinates>Give the tick mark to “Polar to Rectangular” radio button>Ok.
  • Image menu>Rotate Canvas>90oCW
  • Filter menu>Stylize>Wind>Ok.
  • Press Ctrl + F for two times.
  • Image menu>Rotate Canvas>90o
  • Filter menu>Distort Polar Coordinates>Give the tick mark to Rectangular to Polar>Ok.

Liquify filter

The Liquify filter lets you push, pull, rotate, reflect, pucker, and bloat any area of an image. for retouching images as well as creating artistic effects we can use liquify filter.

Forward Warp tool: Pushes pixels forward as you drag.

Reconstruct tool: Reverses the distortion you’ve already added, as you hold down the mouse button and drag.

Twirl Clockwise tool: Rotates pixels clockwise as you hold down the mouse button or drag. To twirl pixels counter clockwise, hold down Alt (Windows) or Option (Mac OS) as you hold down the mouse button or drag.

Pucker tool: Moves pixels toward the center of the brush area as you hold down the mouse button or drag.

Bloat tool: Moves pixels away from the center of the brush area as you hold down the mouse button or drag.

Push Left tool: Moves pixels to the left when you drag the tool straight up (pixels move to the right if you drag down).

Distort an image

Select the layer you want to distort. To change only part of the current layer, select that area.

  • Choose Filter > Liquify.
  • Choose any of the liquify tools to distort the preview image. Drag in the preview image to distort the image.
  • After distorting the preview image, you can:
  • Use the Reconstruct tool or Reconstruct Options to fully or partially reverse the changes.
  • Use other tools to change the image in new ways.
